A Night Without Daddy

So, Shane is usually gone a few days a week for work but it really has been a long time since I felt I might loose my mind when I am on my own. I guess I am not on top of my game right now but anyway, he was gone Tuesday night and I luckily found out that there was an evening storytime at the local library so we decided to make a big trip of it. So we went up there about an hour early and had a picnic lunch out on the grass by the library. Then fed the ducks and all that fun stuff. The evening went really very well and it helped to pass the time and not be counting the minutes until bedtime.

On a side note, I got a new camera for my birthday so we spent some time playing with that and taking a bunch of cool pics of the kids, as you can see in the collage above. I am still not fantastic with it but I am getting better.

Mason's First Real Haircut

One week ago, Shane talked me into giving Mason his first real haircut, I fought it for a very very long time. I just didnt want him to loose all those beautiful curls and I am very happy to say that it is even curlier than before with the trim. Anyway, Daddy sat him on the island in the kitchen and trimmed it up. Here are some pics of before, during and after.

Above is the before, getting to be a little Afroish! Daddy did a great job, and below is all the curls we cut off!

Here is the after, and he does look very very Handsome!

On the road again....

For the last year or so, Shane has been working out of town for a few days a week and it has actually been something that i got used to pretty quick. Though, he has been home for the last month or so for the most part, he will be gone tonight for the first time in a while. Wish me luck.

On about the same note, his work is trying to survive just like everywhere, they made a few cuts in the last few weeks but after a meeting yesterday it seems that everyone else will be safe for a while. They did discuss that there will be some large jobs that will need volunteers to go and work on them that are in other states. I really dont want to move so if he ends up working on one of those we are going to have to come to a strong family decision what is best, staying here or uprooting the kids and going with him. Many of those jobs he can come home and visit and I know we would be ok. So, anyway, we are in a holding pattern for the future but what else is new. It seems we have been in that holding pattern since I married Shane and I am still not used to it and it just gets more difficult as the kids get older.

Getting back on the horse....

I have gotten out of practice of posting and am going to try to be better. Things have been so crazy around here with just our little life. I also feel so inadequete, I dont really know what I am doing here so I will have to feel my way along. With everything going on around here we actually had a weekend home to ourselves this weekend which was so nice. We spent time together, besides Cheyenne being an absolute pain, it was so great. She is going thru some stage right now and just driving us bonkers. So anyway, we also took this opportunity this weekend to adopt a puppy. Crazy, i know! anyway, she is just about 7 weeks old, so she wont be able to come home for another week or so but we are all super excited!

New Goal

I have a new goal to post at least something on here every day. And I am also going to move the old posts from my old blog to here probably not in the right order or anything but I want to close that one down so this is where I will bring them.

Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday and as my resolutions, you know how you do those at New Years, I imagine my birthday as another New Years and worth the time to make new goals. So, working on here to capture memories of my kids, and family is a big one. Shane and I are also starting to eat healthier, those of you who know me, know that I dont like very healthy food but we are going to change that. Anyway, more resolutions to come as I think of some more!

Starting Over

Since I have spent the last few months not blogging at all, I decided now was a great time to make a change. A New Blog without our last names on it for our own safety and just a new starting point in our lives. When I created my old blog, I didnt know any of the ins and outs and didnt know how important it would be to me to keep our family specifics safe.

So Anyway, a new blog starting today and I am vowing to be more dilligent about it and to use it more to document our wonderful lives and all the great happenings.

After all, at the center of everything in our lives is our FAMILY!
