Mason's ear surgery

In the middle of August, we had tubes put into Mason's ears. For the last couple of years he has had chronic ear infections and we waited a year in hopes that it would improve. When he came dome with 6 infections in 6 months we agreef that it was time to take some action.

On the day of the surgery he was not allowed to eat or drink from 7 am to 1 in the afternoon which was really not fun. We got him up early and took him out for a donut so he would eat. Then at noon we went and picked up daddy from work and went over to the surgery center. The surgery took all of about 20 minutes it made for a very long day. Mason was super brave and hopeully as the fall and winter comes we will see that we made the right decision.

Best So Far....

I sit here at my computer, fresh from yelling at Cheyenne and Mason for about the 80th time since we woke up and thinking annnn Awesome Baby Maverick is. Not only would he have let me sleep in till 9 if he was an only child. But how amazing I find it that he is still fast asleep not 15 feet from where I am loudly yelling at my other two. He is only up once a night to eat and that is by far better than either of the other two ever were and are still up at night. I think Heavenly Father knew I had my hands full and gave me the blessing of an amazing baby! Love you Maverick Bruin

So, in our house we have a zoo, not only with our three awesome kids! But we also have two cate and one rather large puppy! We have learned that our long hair cat is happier with short hair so we have started getting him trimmed like this every year. It is call the lions cut and I love it!

Super Mason Turns 3

I know everyone says this but I cannot believe that my boy is 3, it has gone by way way too fast! He actually turned three last month on February 2nd, but yesterday was his three year check up and here are his stats.

Weight: 32.9 lbs

Height: 37.5 inches - by far shorter than cheyenne

We picture him as our short and stocky boy who will win over the girls with his fabulous charm and play a great round of wrestling as he gets older. Here are some of his favorite things right now!

Favorite Food - Hot Dog tho he has now discovered Ribs!

Favorite Phrase - Thats just not fair - then in a little sassy voice answers himself by saying Life is not supposed to be fair! Apparently we say that to him enough.

Favorite Toys - Anything Superhero related

Favorite Person - I know wierd topic, but he loves Cheyenne he still gets a little teary when she leaves for school or when she doesnt want to be with him all the time. It is precious to me to see how much he loves her!

It is all going so fast, he will start preschool in the fall and will do an awesome job, he is so social!

We love you Mason! The Picture below is how he goes to bed he has to hang up the cape first!

Ok, so this pic was sent out with our Christmas/ New Years cards this year since they didnt go out till the middle of January. With all that was happening, we decided to wait and send out cards till after Maverick was home. This picture was taken two days after we came home, as you can see i dont look my best, but i will forever treasure this picture since it is our very first Big Family pictures!

I am So not good at this......

So, I really do think a few times a day that I need to log on and catch up my blog but it feels so overwhelming since I am so far behind. Lots has happened in this family in the last few months that I cannot begin to write about it. But I will at least try to get us to a starting point. So I think I will just recap the last few months.

December 2009 - We were all in the swing of things with the holidays and all the things that surround that. Maverick decided to make his appearance on December 13th at 3:50 am. This is four days before my scheduled csection. But we were glad to have him here. Mom and Maverick were in the hospital for about 5 days then were happily home for Christmas. Grandma Beth, Garrett, and Breanna were here for a visit from the day after Christmas to New Years Eve.

January 2010 - All of life went back to normal as we got on our feet as a family with three kids now. It was an adjustment but we are loving it! Maverick is getting used to being at home with his crazy brother and sister. Cheyenne went back to school after the holiday and was so happy to be there, she missed it everyday. Mason is having a hard time adjusting to being home with mommy and brother but friends and occasional surprise visits from Opa have helped!

February 2010 - This month is sure to be a crazy one so here are a few of the hilites! Mason turned 3 and had a grea Superhero party and is so happy to be the 3 now! Maverick turned two months old and weighs in a 12 lbs and 4 oz. Cheyenne got to be at her first Valentine party and show some "love" of her own to her friends and teachers. We all went to Arizona for a weekend holiday and to attend a wedding of one of Shanes really good friends. We had a blast and got to spend some time with my uncle Marc and his family and a night with just Maverick while my Uncle and his family nicely watched the other two.

Here are some pics from the last few months! And I will do my best to stay more on top of this blog from here on!
